purpose of the Design Committee is to Enhance the visual
quality of the business district means attention to
all physical elements, including:

- Collaborate
with City on future public improvements
Education
Business
and Owner Assistance
- Architectural
services
- Conceptual
plans guidelines
- Provide
information on building materials
 The quality of the designed environment, more
than any other aspect, demonstrates to the public the
other qualities of the district.
The Design Committee, formed in May 2000, is initiating
an Individual Property Improvement Program, whereby
property owners who desire to upgrade their buildings
can approach the committee at no cost. The Committee
would do a professional evaluation of the property and
make suggestions for improvements, based on the property
owner’s budget. In addition, the Committee is making
plans for a Downtown Design Charette public meeting,
to be held during the beginning of the new year.
The Charette will allow the community to see first hand
the design concepts that the committee and our members
have agreed would not only enhance our town visually,
but would also preserve our historic value and beauty.
